Return to Silence
--COMPILATION--
1 hour - digitally remastered
The theme that runs throughout this compilation (extracts from several Satsangs) is “silence.” Papaji states, and demonstrates, that silence is one's real, and permanent, nature. He goes on to say that silence is the ground and substance of everything in existence. He also answers the question, “Can one be silent while being active in the world? “
Papaji speaks of the way by which Sri Ramana Maharshi demonstrated silence and what he taught about how to realize it. As importantly, he speaks of the means by which we distract ourselves from the experience and realization of silence.
He explains the meaning of freedom, or enlightenment, and the simplicity of awakening. During this discussion he also speaks about, and defines, Satsang, mind, and atman, and answers the question about the role of the guru. He convincingly assures his devotees that waking up is possible in this lifetime.
The topic of how our recognition, or lack thereof, affects all beings is beautifully explained. We actually see an example of this when one devotee, while speaking to Papaji, suddenly recognizes silence as the reality of his being and the viewer is drawn into the profound depths of being. In a spontaneous outpouring, this devotee speaks about “the arrow of Papaji's love which strikes the heart” and which brings one to his knees in gratitude.
Though the content of this compilation is of a profound nature, it is also light hearted and filled with joy. It ends with a song of gratitude beautifully sung.
This is one DVD that you will want to watch over and over.

Death & Eternity
--COMPILATION—
54 minutes - digitally remastered
Papaji speaks about the blessings that derive from sitting with a realized being. He says that, among other things, close association with an awakened teacher will remove the fear of death. He advises students to nourish the desire to be free and to “come with empty hands” and minds to the teacher. He goes on to explain that any concept, including the concept of birth and death, stands as an obstacle to awakening. He encourages devotees to always aspire for that which lies beyond birth and death, what he calls “the Changeless,” which abides in the cave of the heart. Constantly meditate on the Changeless, the Self.

Give me Enlightenment Please!
--COMPILATION—
59 minutes - digitally remastered
In this DVD Papaji stresses the fact that one must not only give up the search for enlightenment but, more importantly, the idea that there is one who can engage in a search. He says that the “I” is the only hindrance to the realization of the truth of who one is. The seeker is the problem. He then tells the viewer how to let go of the concept of “I” and, in fact, all concepts. He says, “God is” remains as the only truth—not known but experienced. He also speaks about the blessing of finding a true teacher, a guru, and how one should come to the guru.

By renouncing desire one realizes that there is no mind and no ego. There is only emptiness requiring neither union nor separation.

Beyond Desire
--COMPILATION—
1 hr 1 minute - digitally remastered
All pleasure ends in pain. The only way to avoid suffering is to reveal knowledge of the Self. To be free one has to renounce even the desire for freedom itself. Papaji gives the analogy of the thorn used to remove the other thorn, “You need thorn of happiness to remove pain, but then you renounce happiness also.”

Who am I?
--COMPILATION—
1 hr 2 minutes - digitally remastered
This compilation was derived from a series of Satsangs in which participants asked Papaji to speak about the experience of “I.” He was repeatedly asked, “Who am I, if I am not who I think I am?” Papaji directs one to the “experience of the heart” in which “I” is known directly, beyond all concepts of past and future. Papaji says that only the heart knows here and now, the only place where “I” is realized. He goes on to say that, in reality, there is only here and now and points to the means whereby it is realized.

SUMMA IRU –(KEEP QUIET)

An interview by David Godman
1 hr 20 minutes - digitally remastered
In this interview, set in a beautiful garden in Lucknow, Papaji lovingly answers a wide variety of questions. His answers are sometimes serious, sometimes humorous, but always profound and direct.
The questions to which Papaji responds in this interview by David Godman:
Why is what you offer not called a teaching?
Are you a guru?
Is there a power, or grace, in your presence that helps people recognize the Self?
Are there qualifications for enlightenment?
If enlightenment is so easy, why do so few succeed?
Is it necessary to have a master or guru?
Are ecstasy and bliss states of mind?

Papaji Speaks - Om Shanti Vol. 1
digitally remastered
September 4, 1992 - 22 minutes
Who is the Witness?
Papaji asks, “Who is the witness of all activities, personal and universal?” Who was the witness before the creation of the universe and, thus, before the Creator? And, why is it important to consider?
November 17, 1992 - 18 minutes
Worship
Papaji maintains that worship is not foreign to enlightened ones. Everything is Consciousness, and worship of Consciousness in whatever form it appears acknowledges that Consciousness is all there is. Consciousness, or the Self, reveals Itself to Itself. If you worship all things as Consciousness, you will never forget who you are.
November 26, 1992 - 18 minutes
Behold the Inner Flame
Call this flame the Self, Atman, Enlightenment, or Freedom. There are three ways to find it:
1. Absolute dedication for it.
2. Completely abandon all desires.
3. Enquire into the nature of the Self.
Any one of these is quite enough. This flame is always within your Heart, it is not distant. At some level you must be aware of this or the attractions of the world would satisfy you. You are not satisfied. Only that which is eternal can satisfy you. Peace is eternal. You must decide that this is what you want and then you must dedicate yourself to it. Then you must share it with all beings.

Papaji Speaks - Om Shanti Vol. 2
digitally remastered
November 6, 1992 - 24 minutes
Who are you?
Papaji says that if you know the answer to the question, “Who are you?” karma ceases to function and samsara ceases to exist. You return to your original nature: Being, Existence, Bliss. This is the only reason you are here. He then goes on to discuss the means by which the answer becomes apparent.
November 23, 1992 - 16 minutes
The word is a Notion
Papaji discusses the original notion, or idea, from which the entire illusory universe was born. He says that those who look at the fruit of this notion will suffer endlessly because it hides the substratum of all that appears, which is the source of all joy. He explains the underlying Reality, God or Consciousness, and the means by which the illusion can be dissolved so that Reality can be realized.
December 21, 1992 - 15 minutes
Silence
Papaji says that silence, which is one’s true nature and the source of all happiness, is the purpose of all practices. For example, he says that the joy that seems to come from the attainment of some goal is not in the gain itself, but becomes apparent as ever-present because the mind is now silent. He maintains that it is possible to be silent even in the midst of activity, which is also Sri Ramana Maharshi’s main teaching. Papaji says that silence, which is synonymous with freedom, answers all questions. However, he says not to run after freedom or enlightenment. If you keep quiet it will find you. Papaji doesn’t leave us with only the insight into the importance of silence, but goes on to tell us how to achieve (or recognize) silence as the ever-present substratum of awareness.

Fear of Death
Papaji explains how the close association with a realized teacher removes the fear of death. Such association will help one to get rid of the concepts of birth and death - neither of which exist in reality – and to spark the desire to be free which is the only truly helpful desire.
December 1, 1992 – 18 minutes
What is the mind?
In this segment, Papaji speaks about desire. He says that to give up all desire, but for a instant, you will see that mind and ego do not exist. In the emptiness of no-mind there is no union and no separation. There is only ‘This’ which one eternally is.
January 23, 1993 – 20 minutes
Keep Quiet
Papaji explains that the words “keep quiet,” which are heard so often in Satsang, is not something that one does, but is in fact, what you always are. You are always quiet. It is your true nature. When Papaji says to keep quiet he is simply saying do not take up any thought; recognize what is always the case prior to, during, and after all thoughts.

Self-Enquiry
Papaji counsels a dying woman with regard to the reality of Life, or Consciousness, which cannot die. In the process, of course, he is counselling all of us. He challenges all of us to first know ourselves and then to speak of death.

Pleasure is Pain
This is a long discourse in which the false promises of all the pleasures of the world of form are exposed . Papaji does not leave the listener in hopelessness but goes on to explain how to avoid the suffering that comes from the pursuit of pleasure. He speaks of Self-Knowledge in which one sees through the illusion of the ego and its promises to the Reality in which we abide. It is called freedom, peace, happiness, beauty and love. This talk includes a beautiful description of ego and the means by which it deflects us from the realization of that place where we are eternally seated.
November 3, 1992 – 17 minutes
Enlightenment
Papaji gives a very clear explanation of enlightenment and why it seems, so often, to be impossible to attain. He says, despite the belief in the separation from ‘That’ which one is, that it is possible to realize the truth about oneself this very moment and goes on to tell us how. He finishes this talk with a provocative and profound statement: “The ultimate truth is that nothing ever existed. It’s all silence.”
November 21, 1992 – 33 minutes
Delight, Bliss & Beyond
This volume of talks ends with a call for true non-action in which we realize delight, bliss and ‘That’ which lies beyond every possible conception of what it means to realize, or be the truth: “Let there be peace, delight, bliss and beyond.
